The Netherlands experienced a "Golden Age" of football in the 1970s and early 1980s. During this period, a group of highly talented players, including Johan Cruyff, Ruud Krol, and Dennis Bergkamp, spearheaded a revolution in football tactics and playing style known as "Total Football".

The Dutch national team won the UEFA European Championship in 1988 and reached the final of the FIFA World Cup in 1974 and 1978, solidifying their status as a global powerhouse in the sport.

Recent Performances

In recent years, the Netherlands has continued to be a competitive force in international football. They reached the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and 2018, and won the UEFA Nations League in 2019.

The team is currently managed by Louis van Gaal and is preparing for the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament, which will be held in Germany.
