Travis Scott's Air Jordan 4 Retro Honors Houston's Football Legacy
Subtle Nods to the City's Past Combine with Bold Style
Celebrating a Bygone Era with University Blue and Varsity Red
The latest collaboration between Nike and Travis Scott, the Air Jordan 4 Retro Cactus Jack, pays tribute to the city of Houston's football legacy. This exclusive sneaker features a Durabuck leather upper in University Blue, a nod to the Houston Oilers, the city's former NFL team. Varsity Red accents on the tongue, lace loops, and heel tab add a touch of boldness to the design.
Founded in 1960, the Oilers played in Houston until 1997 when they relocated to Tennessee and became the Titans. The team's iconic blue and red color scheme has become synonymous with Houston sports, and it's reflected in the design of the Air Jordan 4 Retro Cactus Jack.
In addition to the color scheme, the Air Jordan 4 Retro Cactus Jack also features other subtle references to Houston. The Cactus Jack logo on the tongue and heel is a nod to Scott's record label, which is based in Houston. The shoe also features a custom insole with a map of Houston, as well as the words "Houston Oilers" printed on the bottom of the sole.
